Hey, this happened today. I was making a ticking noise, so I removed the side panel and heard the sound coming from between the PSU and HDD. The noise got faster and louder, and a blue screen appeared. When I tried to boot again, it went through BIOS but no HDD showed up after unplugging and plugging in the SATA cable—it booted, though the click sound remains. Someone, please help me; I'm really nervous.

It seems like the storage device is severely damaged. You could attempt repairs using specialized drive recovery experts, or swap in a working board and see if the disk spins again.

Your hard drive is reaching its limit. If you have a backup, now is the best time to swap it out and use it. Otherwise, consider trying to run it and see if it lasts. Clicking noises are coming, so I’m ready for anything.

It could simply be a flawed firmware file leading to the entire device failing, which might explain the clicking sound.

It's about the HDD, but I'm concerned about the PSU or motherboard.

If everything works smoothly and you reach the BIOS, the issue is probably related to the hard drive. You might also test it on another computer using an adapter before diving into professional repairs. It’s better to troubleshoot first before attempting fixes.

Yes, the device remains connected to the power source.

I don’t have another PC, so I’m going to take it to a shop. They told me the PSU has an issue, but if it’s the PSU they’ll fix it. I’m really concerned about the PSU problem and what might happen if the motherboard fails.
