Experience a faster system start with a smooth boot process.
Typically, I get 7 starts in about a minute or so, but my PC needs around 10 minutes to boot up. I cleared all cache files in hopes of speeding things up, but it still takes a long time. It's not just the startup—shutting down also takes a lot of time. After turning on, the desktop loads all icons and connects to the internet in another 5 minutes. I experienced a power cut recently, which prevented it from shutting down properly. This issue has been happening since then. Anyone have any suggestions to fix it? Thank you.
Avoid using the Startup option in Windows 7's task manager. Open Run by pressing Win+R, type msconfig and click OK. Navigate to the Startup section to disable components if needed. If this doesn't resolve the issue, consider installing the Windows Performance Toolkit from the SDK, then run "xbootmgr -trace boot" and examine the output, focusing on the "xperf boot_BASE+CSWITCH_1.etl" command.
