expanding your wifi coverage to link a garage door opener
Hello, I own a Blue Tooth garage opener that uses my cell phone to unlock the door. It seems these devices are no longer available on Amazon anymore (they’re all Wi-Fi based). I’m facing several problems: one garage is 60 feet away with a lot of insulation between them, so my Wi-Fi signal doesn’t reach it properly. My Q isn’t showing any chance for a stable Wi-Fi connection. I tried getting a Wi-Fi range extender, but if that didn’t help, I considered using a Powerline Network extender to send the signal directly into the garage first. Then I’d connect the extender inside the garage to link it to the opener system. If the Powerline extender failed, I thought about running an external cable. However, when testing the Wi-Fi range extender, I received an IP address of 192.168.188.1 in the app, but it didn’t work unless I unplugged the LAN cable and connected it to my ISP router. After that, it told me there was no internet connection, so I couldn’t manage anything. I’m stuck between trying a cable solution or finding another way to get a stable Wi-Fi link for the opener.
