Hey there, I bought this setup for my kids last year and it’s been working well. But I saw the HDD getting full, so I got another one and opened its cover—now there’s space for more drives. With some computer experience, I’m feeling a bit stuck and unsure what to do next. My thought is to replace the power supply and fan controller and rewire it all. Anyone have a simpler solution?

You don’t have to purchase additional items; everything is solvable. It will require some time, patience, and work, but it’s manageable.

Join the discussions! Your hard drive probably stays out of that tangled mess, right? Come check it again on the other end of the box.

You need a bit of patience and some time to rewire the whole thing, by the look of it, there's not much cable management on that case. I'd suggest to find some zip ties/velcro straps/cable ties and do some cable management.

You have two options: replace the PSU and rewire everything, or just rewire it completely. It seems like the cable organization is the issue—probably there are more SATA power connectors than you see. Did you also purchase a SATA data cable for connecting the HDD to the motherboard?

I purchased a SATA cable to pair with my HDD, and the company sent me detailed instructions. It turns out accessing the HDD requires removing the PSU and front panel, which seems like a more involved process than expected. I already have a 750-watt Corsair PSU installed in my build, so I might upgrade to a larger GPU in the future—currently it only has a 550W unit. These compact cases aren’t as intuitive as what I’m used to. Thanks for the welcome and support; everyone, I might need some help since I haven’t assembled a computer since Windows XP and am enjoying the process despite the challenges.

We took this case with a more contemporary feel, though I might have underestimated the power supply setup with ketchup and mustard cables. If it isn’t modular, I wouldn’t suggest using it for upgrades since it won’t make much difference. A 550-watt PSU is still sufficient, as it covers most systems’ power needs.

I finally figured it out, buddy. It's been a while since I've been on the forum too. I realized that with the limited space in the case, going modular would be the best solution. For the hard drive tray, I'll send some pictures later—I think it could be an interesting project once I get around to it. The email about it has seven steps, which sounds like a fun challenge!
