Executing multiple OS simultaneously
Consider setting a boot preference during startup for Windows or SteamOS. Also, evaluate whether SteamOS enhances gaming performance on Linux platforms, such as CS:GO.
On some systems, SteamOS could actually slow things down based on the developer. For dual booting, just allocate a section of the hard drive and install it there. If prompted for Grub, you can pick Windows or Linux at startup without entering BIOS.
You can run two operating systems side by side. Start with Windows first, then switch to Linux. Avoid SteamOS and stick to Ubuntu for a better desktop experience. Performance tends to be slower on Linux, though it can vary based on your hardware.
Choose a Linux distribution like Debian or Ubuntu and install Steam from there. Standard dual-booting methods should be sufficient.
For gaming purposes, I’d completely abandon dual booting Linux altogether.
