So here is my problem, if somebody knows the answer I'll be amazed. After my father decided to switch ISP my internet has done something I've never even heard off and I seem to be unable to fix. In my opinion it's a fault at the ISP end but they deny it. The three notable issues I have are getting thrown out of teamspeak servers, and with that I don't mean i disconnect from teamspeak because when I am in two different servers I can be perfectly fine on one server while timing out from the other. I also can't reconnect on the same tab but rather annoyingly have to close that tab (while it is reconnect automatically and failing) in order to reestablish connection. Interestingly enough, if i leave the tab open without doing anything sometimes it will succeed in reconnecting after a while. Thats symptom one, symptom two is playing world of tanks, it randmoly kicks me out of the game, usually at the start of a session 1-2 times and after that it's fine (the teamspeak issue happens in random intervalls and continuously) Í am always able to reconnect right away without closing the game down although I do because it's quicker than waiting to be thrown out to the login screen. Third issue is youtube videos, I get the error message "an error occured. please try again later", here I have to just wait until the error message goes away and the video will play normally. Other than these issues the speed is very good and while it is working the stabiulity is alright as well. Here is some backstory: we live outside the city so there was only one provider willing to pull fiber out here, it cost a small fortune even after basically lobbying around the neighbourhood to get enough people to pledge their support for it. This provider then wanted to crank up the prices for out subscription and my gloriously smart old man who "would have none of that" decided to change provider and because he is old and shit at modern business practice he got conned into a 1 year contract he can't get out of even though they have a no minimum subscription time. SO I am now stuck with the albeit cheaper ISP but a hell of a lot shitter, especially costumer service wise. The issue progression is as follows, we used the router from the first ISP (telia) which worked fine and when the switch was made to the new ISP (viasat) the internet started having the issues described above. The thinking was first that we'd just have to change the router out to the one the new ISP sent us, that did not work. What follows has been a month of resetting routers, changing configurations, attempts to catch the issue by using glass wire and another network monotoring tool (nothing turns up), searching the internet and finally trying to live with the issue, which I don't want to anymore so here I am asking. Additional info: My theory is that the new ISP might be running some kind of protocol that drops connections by some random parameters, perhaps it has a ridiculously low threshold for terminating inactive lines of communication in order to free bandwidth. The reason for this theory is the extremely selective nature of the disconnects and the fact that I was told that the new ISP is leasing HALF of my original ISPs bandwidth. Network layout: One main router and two satelites in two other houses. These issues never existed with the previous ISP and started exactly when the switch happened so in my mind its clearly ISP related. Im not just asking for a solution but also if somebody knows what causes this and/or how i can record it in order to show it to my ISP.

The setup uses fibre optic cable delivering 250 Mbit, with satellites linked to the main router via cat 6 cable. Static IPs were assigned with DHCP enabled, but manually configured to distribute IPs outside the main router’s range to prevent conflicts. This arrangement appears to support full-duplex performance, and the system functioned well with the original ISP. Gaming maintained low ping (20-50 ms). Are you suggesting a less reliable ISP might have revealed weaknesses in this configuration? It seems the design issues persist even after adjustments.

This setup offers a more straightforward alternative. Instead of nesting routers, you can treat each device as an access point, assign them distinct static IPs outside the main router’s DHCP range, and direct their DNS and gateway to the primary router. The main router manages IP allocation and routing. It seems you also utilized extra wireless routers as satellites; ensure their wireless configurations are optimized to avoid channel conflicts on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.

It's the more complex method you're using, but I aimed to keep the satellites separate from the main network. Either way, we adjusted during troubleshooting—specifically, I disabled DHCP services on the satellites. The core network problem remained unchanged. Despite the odd setup, it's functioned perfectly for about two to three years. Now, with these new issues emerging, I'm considering either negotiating a change in the subscription or accepting the situation for another nine months.

Are similar performance problems experienced when connecting directly to the router? What network devices are you using? I can illustrate the internal wiring with IP addresses if needed. Have you performed a wireless scan at each access point? If not, I recommend using the WiFi Analyzer app from the Microsoft Store and sharing screenshots of the Networks and Analyze pages for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.

Thanks for the help and sorry for not updating, I've been busy with my new puppy and work. So here's what happened, I reset my router to factory, then I made all my routers use the google dns and then i removed all the addons to my chrome and I set my router to act only as a bridge. Since I've tried the other steps before it's either a combination of everything or it's actually the chrome addon (popup blocker) that caused these issues. The whole day today i didn't get a single disconnect from anywhere. Id say issue fixed, might try to put it back to the way I had it before to see if any issues return or if it really only was the damn popup blocker that fucked my shit up xD
