I purchased new Samsung 2TB 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSDs and installed them on my PC. While playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 2017, I encountered a problem: when trying to load a character, it failed. After respawning, no characters loaded, though the game continued running. I quit and later tried launching the game again, but it still wouldn’t start. I restarted my computer, which resolved the issue temporarily. Once I resumed playing, the same error persisted.

I ran a CHKDSK on the D: drive and confirmed everything was fine. The problem kept happening until I reinstalled Windows. After updating the OS and installing games, the error remained. I restarted again and kept Disk Management open during play. Eventually, the disk appeared uninitialized in Disk Management, but after a restart it worked properly—no data loss detected.

I downloaded Samsung Magician to scan the SSDs for errors, which showed no issues. I rearranged the drives in their M.2 slots, but the error continued. Eventually, I bought a new motherboard (MSI Board). The problem persisted even after reinstalling Windows. I tried reinstalling the OS and games multiple times, but it didn’t fix anything.

Eventually, I contacted RMA for a replacement. They provided a new MSI motherboard and both Samsung SSDs. I replaced the drives with brand-new ones and another new motherboard. After that, I attempted to run the game on separate drives (C:, D:, ESmile, but the issue still occurred.

I’m now uncertain whether the problem lies in my CPU/PCIe configuration or a Windows-related issue. Here’s a summary of what I’ve tried:

- New hardware
- Reinstalled Windows multiple times (around 5 attempts)
- Zeroed the drives
- Changed drive slots
- Used Samsung Magician for error scanning
- Swapped SSDs in different M.2 slots
- Replaced motherboard
- Still experiencing errors during gameplay

I’m seeking advice on whether it’s related to PCIe lanes, device configuration, or a Windows problem. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
