You can connect your Ubuntu 16.04 system to a Windows machine via the internet using SSHFS or another file-sharing method. It’s not directly possible to run a local Linux file on a remote Windows server without some intermediary setup like a cloud storage service or a dedicated network solution. Consider exploring options such as SCP, SFTP, or cloud-based file transfer tools that support cross-platform access.

The system is likely checking for security or integrity issues before allowing direct execution of a file.

Yes, you can connect to a Citrix system via RDP and execute applications directly from there.

Confirm if the file should run on the distant server or stay on your own device. The second option requires having a local copy of the file.

Run the program directly on your computer without moving the files elsewhere, similar to connecting a remote server and launching it locally.

I believe you're aiming to free up space on your local drive because the file is too big. Even if you can make it function, the program would need to load into your computer's memory each time you run it. Transferring it over the network every time would be extremely slow and probably not worth it.
