Received my GTX 980 G1 from Gigabyte. Replaced the AMD 7970. Tested DSR and OMG. My gaming setup is feeling pretty sad. Played Mass Effect 3, 2, 1 and Medal of Honor 2010 in 4K, then downscaled to 1080p. Wow! Check it out http://youtu.be/3hpWG-kXp1w?t=40m4s
Began playing ME2 on 4K recently, it’s impressive how smooth everything feels. The gameplay lacked any noticeable AI issues, and the visuals were quite sharp.
It has been around for a while, yet that doesn't make it simple. Nvidia simplifies it, which is exactly what they aim for. The Mass Effect menus don't scale well, but the MOH 2010 crosshairs are noticeable in the video. Still, they look impressive!
Absolutely, I get it. Playing Star Citizen at full settings was smooth—always 1080p, never dropping below 60fps, and the card stayed under 67c. The GPU usage was only around 80%. It’s amazing! P.S.: I’m still into console gaming too.
Battlefield 4 seems to perform well with around 60 frames per second, but I believe DSR excels more for older titles, offering no AA effects (Mass Effect) and minimal textures. Additionally, MoH is quite impressive.
