You can upgrade your components in OEM Windows 8.1, though it may require some preparation and testing.

It seems OEM Windows is linked to your motherboard, meaning you might need a replacement key. I recommend checking https://www.kinguin.net/.

Windows 10 performs better with newer hardware. I’ll create a backup first and test it. Upgrading to Windows 10 is recommended if possible since version 8.1 isn’t supported on newer devices.

You'll need to purchase a fresh OEM license, as these codes are used once. This makes buying a complete retail version of Windows 10 more worthwhile, especially with its updated features that allow repeated use. Linus explains in the video how this process functions and the differences between various Windows versions.

This option seems reasonable, but you're dealing with an intrusive watermark and certain functionalities are limited. Most features still work fine.

Attempt it, who knows? Perhaps contacting Microsoft will suffice, maybe not. You always have opportunities. Just avoid reinstalling, just restart. And when questioned, you'll claim you fixed your computer and don't remember what was changed.
