Hello everyone, I made several improvements to my gaming PC this weekend and spent time optimizing everything. Today, while installing these upgrades, I encountered a major issue. After completing the weekend changes, my system specs are now: Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite WiFi Ryzen 9 3900x, Corsair H100i RGB AIO 6x 120mm case fans, 32GB (4x8GB), Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200GB, Gigabyte RTX 4070 12GB (16x PCIe), Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super 8GB (4x PCIe Corsair RMx850 shift series 500GB NVMe M.2 boot drive, 1TB NVMe M.2 storage). The goal was to refresh the hardware and add more output ports for my monitors. Once everything was installed, the system started up successfully and I managed to format a new 1TB M.2 drive. Now both graphics cards can run games independently. However, I noticed the XMP settings for my RAM weren’t working correctly, causing frequent crashes. After some research, I decided a BIOS update would help since my BIOS was three years old. When I applied the update, the system wouldn’t boot. I tried flashing it back to the original state but still faced the same issue. Eventually, I removed the latest M.2 drive and the PC started working again. I’m hoping to find a way to keep the current setup without the BIOS changes, as they resolved my RAM problem. My motherboard supports dual M.2 slots and multiple PCIe lanes, but it seems limited in practice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The manual indicates no slot restrictions or sharing, making it feasible to use both M.2 and the PCIe X4 port together.

I see a build that matches yours. You can utilize the full CPU lanes, dividing them into x8x8 groups to fit into slot 2 GPUs. The chipset should handle M2 components, and you already confirmed compatibility with your setup—CPU lanes, PCIe M2 adapter, and Wi-Fi card all work without problems.

Are you certain your approach is correct? Removing one GPU or using a M.2 slot might resolve the problem if it relates to PCIe lane availability.

Spent some time adjusting the Bifurcation settings but still couldn’t get the PC to utilize the second M.2 slot. It seems my two graphics cards are occupying 20 of the 24 available lanes, while the remaining four pass through the chipset—my next steps aren’t clear.
