I've resolved it. The Windows reinstall seems to have fixed the issue.

Actually, you've just created a workaround, but you're not sure about the original issue.

You're thinking it might have been a corrupted Windows file caused by an update. After reinstalling Windows, your files and programs should be safe.

It could be anything. To be certain, look for a specific issue next time. You'll gain knowledge about your system that way. File corruption is uncommon and usually tied to faulty hardware. Your fresh setup succeeded, so it wasn't a hardware fault. Knowing the cause helps you avoid repeating the same steps later.

I've experienced comparable problems with CPU consumption in Windows 10 LTSC. A few weeks ago, an unexpected process—whether from Windows, Nividia, or a game—would spike CPU usage to 100% and cause crashes. I found discussions about other users facing the same issue linked to a recent update. It seems that updates shouldn't install automatically on LTSC; only error 0x80080005 appears when updating manually. I've tried several solutions but none resolved it. I'm really puzzled about what's happening.
