Excessive memory consumption and issues with Adobe applications (possibly due to RAM limitations)
I’m experiencing performance issues. Opening Photoshop or Premiere causes RAM usage to jump to 14GB out of 16GB. Zooming in on projects leads to crashes and the video card disappears from Task Manager—though it’s re-enabled in Device Manager. It could be the GPU, possibly a friend’s mining rig that wasn’t heavily used. The high RAM demand might indicate both the GPU and system are struggling. When playing games at 1440p with high settings, I have no issues. My Opera browser usually has 6-8 tabs open. The problem seems to affect lighter applications too. My system specs are a Ryzen 5 3600 (boosted to 4.2, 2.9V), GTX 1070 OC Strix, and Corsair Venge Pro (16GB, 2x8). If anyone knows what’s going on or has suggestions, it would be helpful.
The discussion covers various categories of false statements, including outright lies, fabricated statistics, and casual excuses. Regarding Adobe tools, the focus is on Opera, but all examples relate to Opera versions. If you turn off unnecessary programs and launch PS, it can help clear up performance issues.
For the RAM in Photoshop and Premier, it seems they are draining all available memory
Not always (well, at least not in PS case, I can't speak for Premier) Case in point: I am a photographer, and have just opened LightRoom and PhotoShop (CS5) and with my RAW files of 600 images from my last studio session open, both LR and PS consume 562MB and 86MB respectively. Mt entire system is chewing up 3.75GB (out of 32GB) which is just slightly more than @kris_r8 Opera is using by itself. Something is way out of whack with Opera
Currently everything is working well. I plan to test Mozila to check if the issue continues. On my laptop, it's a basic model with GTX 1050, i5 8th gen, and 8GB RAM. I experienced no issues running Premiere and Photoshop together, though After Effects was a bit slower but still manageable. I won't run it long with all three programs open at once. I'm using Adobe 2019 versions. I'll provide more details if needed. Appreciate your quick reply!
