You might want to explore the Witcher series, particularly the second installment. The mount and blade series are also worth a look—they’re quite classic, offering strategic battles with detailed mechanics like archers directing their forces and cavalry maneuvers. The gameplay leans into chivalric tactics, where you control swordplay and counterattacks, or switch to simpler controls for a more Skyrim-like experience. Managing your troops, completing quests, and building your own realm are all part of the journey. I suggest trying Mount and Blade: Warband. You could also give Far Cry 2 or Just Cause 2 a shot (JC2 is very enjoyable and affordable right now). If you’re into The Elder Scrolls, consider mods that fully convert the game for a fresh experience.
It's a classic choice. The quality is solid, though the visuals and gameplay feel a bit dated. The narrative, however, is strong.

Grandia 2 is a JRPG available on Dreamcast/PS2, now on Steam. It offers an excellent battle system among JRPGs, perfect for fans of that genre.
