Hi there! You're just starting your journey in IT, which is great. You recently built a gaming rig in June last year and are thinking about boosting your CPU's performance by overclocking. You're curious whether your current stock cooling solution will suffice or if you should consider water cooling. Your CPU is an AMD FX 8350 with 8 cores at 4.2 GHz, and you're using an EVGA 450W Bronze power supply.
What temperatures do you maintain at stock? Why not give it a shot? You already own the equipment.
I’m doing great right now, but my cooler isn’t the standard one. I’ve got a high-performance master Hyper T2 with dual heatpipes and a long-lasting clip-on fan. My current temperatures are listed in OpenHardwareMonitor.Reportnumber5.txt.
Looks reasonable though—there were some odd temperature readings back then. Make sure your VRM temps are tracked; they tend to get stressed if you push too much power. Consider boosting the multiplier and adjusting where needed. There are plenty of overclocking resources available.
