The largest fighting game tournament kicks off later today at Bally’s / Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. The Evolution championship series 2015 takes place from July 17th to 19th. For details, check http://evo.shoryuken.com. This year’s registration opens for every category except Marvel vs. Capcom 3, with two Smash Bros. events. Here are the participant numbers: Ultra Street Fighter IV – 2227 Super Smash Bros. for Wii U – 1926 Super Smash Bros. Melee – 1869 Mortal Kombat X – 1162 Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- – 968 Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 – 816 Tekken 7 – 458 Persona 4 Arena Ultimax – 437 Killer Instinct. Tournament brackets and streaming schedules are available online. The event will be broadcast on Twitch, and there are also 22 side tournaments scheduled. Get the buzz!
