Hi all, coming here again for some more help regarding my GPU. I was curious about my PC's performance after my friend with the same GPU and similar build and I were playing Battlefield 6 and his system was performing much better than mine at the same preset settings, so I ran a quick benchmark to take a look.
I know there's a lot of controversy regarding UserBenchmark but I ran their tool to see if I could get a general idea of where my system was underperforming and it turns out my GPU was scoring very low relative to other 3080 Ti's. I know that UserBenchmark doesn't take into account overclocking of any kind so it's not the best way to compare, but my GPU was in the bottom 5th percentile of their 3080 Ti scores.

I used DDU to remove GPU drivers and directly installed the latest from NVIDIA (580.88) and I then ran the benchmark again with HWiNFO open to see if there were any issues with thermals. No thermal throttling was detected and hotspot temps were all normal (still received same score), so I'm confused what could be causing the low performance. If anyone has any suggestions about what could be causing this issue it would be greatly appreciated!

Don't rely on userbenchmark to evaluate your performance, as that source is filled with inconsistent data. Try actual game benchmarks at the lowest levels and contrast them with other reviews that used comparable hardware setups.

Userbenchmark isn't ideal for comparing different brands or models. It's sufficient to spot major problems. For example, a 3080 Ti falls outside the expected range. With a bell curve, most users would be centered around it. To verify further, run another benchmark such as 3D Mark TimeSpy or a newer version. While doing this, keep an eye on temperatures. The issue might lie with the airflow, your case, or you may need to reapply thermal paste on the GPU. Pay close attention to memory temperatures too. Tools like HardwareMonitor64 and GPU-Z will help you track performance. GPU-Z also displays perfcap reasons, so if power limits are hit, it will be evident. This newer model might not be optimized well for older 30 series cards either.

That was the sole motivation for mentioning UserBenchmark – it appeared significantly below expectations. I proceeded to test 3D Mark TimeSpy using the demo, while monitoring with GPU-Z. I’m not entirely clear on what to derive from the log data, but my TimeSpy result is marginally above average for comparable builds.

Userbenchmark tends to lean toward Intel systems and their findings are puzzling.
What temperatures are you observing? GPU memory and hot spots?
What boost clock speeds are you experiencing?
From the graphs it seems to be around 1750 ±?
A modest increase in cooling can make a big difference.
A tailored fan curve for the GPU can significantly lower temperatures without adding too much noise.
Most cards from the 3000 series would reach about 2000mhz boost speeds when properly cooled.

Does BF6 need the newest drivers? It's uncertain about the present Geforce drivers for 3rd/4th generation cards due to performance and stability problems during many updates around the RTX 50 series. Check what version your friend is running. If BF6 doesn't demand specific drivers, consider 566.36, which is regarded as the best option for our cards and I continue to use it for my 3080ti.

He was also on 580.88 during BF6, along with the benchmarks he used for comparison. It appears in his UserBenchmark results, though the image is somewhat unclear.

During Time Spy Graphics Test #1/2, these were my highest temperatures recorded by GPU-Z:
GPU Temperature - 70.3 C
Hot Spot - 79.1 C
Memory Temperature - 80.1 C
Usually I use an undervolt, but I faced instability with BF6 so I switched back to factory settings for my card. My friend also runs his card at stock because he prefers not to experiment with this setup, which is why I maintained the same settings during the tests. The boost clock on this card is 1800.
I'm mainly worried about the differences between two nearly identical cards operating at similar temps, but I'll keep cooling in mind.
