EVGA BIOS - DRAM SPD Write Function
Hello, Love the videos ! This is my setup : CPU : Intel Xeon E5-2699 V4 MOBO : EVGA X99 Micro 2 (BIOS ver. 2.08) MEM. : G.Skill Trident Z 3200 128gb kit (4x32gb) Graphics : Acer Biftost Intel Arc A770 Storage : WD NVMe SN850X 2tb (C drive) running Windows 10 Pro Storage : WD Red Plus HHD 10tb (D storage/backup drive) My problem is : I had an I7-6850K as CPU prior to the upgrade to the Xeon chip and everything worked fine. Now, after the CPU change, the Trident Z RGB software won’t post. In task manager, I can see the processes (Gamer.exe and hid.exe) using up 3-4% of the CPU, but nothing. I went on G.Skill forum for some help and they mentioned to enable “DRAM SPD Write” yet I cannot find it in the bios. Help please ! Thanks, Angelo
They recommended reaching out to EVGA support via email, as mentioned in their community forums. Beyond that, I don't see the Xeon as a worthwhile upgrade for a gaming setup. It shares the same CPU generation as previous models from 2016. Current game engines typically can't leverage such a high core count, offering no real advantage. Additionally, the reduced top clock speed means each core delivers less performance, causing many titles—especially those focused on single-core tasks—to run more slowly.
