I used a Ryzen 5 1600 with an MSI B350M Mortal.4060 Ti and Trident Z RGB 2x8 3200. I upgraded the CPU to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, updated the BIOS, but it kept refusing to leave the BIOS settings. After reinstalling Windows 10, everything worked fine. About two hours later, I reopened the BIOS to adjust the RAM speed—set it to 3200 when saving and restarting. The PC wouldn’t start under Windows or in BIOS; it only ran at full fan speeds. Anyone has advice on how to resolve this?

Refresh your BIOS if feasible. Inspect the rear IO of your motherboard for a BIOS flashback option. Alternatively, search the support sections online. You might also attempt disassembling components gradually to test system stability.

Use the provided jumper or button as instructed in your user manual to reset the CMOS. If other methods don’t work, turn off the power and remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes to clear it.

Reset the CMOS settings. Avoid altering the RAM speed further.

I removed the battery for ten minutes and the power cable still didn’t function properly.

Before I changed my mind, I didn’t want to repeat this again after trying it once before.
