Your budget is $400 since your partner plans to spend that on Christmas gifts for you. They mentioned a PS4 because they think you might be expecting one, even though you already have a 7-year-old laptop. You’re looking for something better than what they suggested, but you want a low-end PC that’s at least 2% improved. What do you think about upgrading to a more capable machine?

It's doable if you construct it yourself. I need to stay active or I'd assist.

The optimal choice is to keep a bit more until reaching the $600 limit. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Qf7VCJ You'll appreciate it.

Certainly, the current capabilities of AMD's APUs are impressive.

You found the same deal at a lower cost, and it works perfectly for a PS4.

I overlooked the need for Windows, a mouse, and a keyboard.
