He was tackling the long-standing conspiracy mission. After exiting the mine, the quest didn’t finish properly even though I’m sure I left it. The biggest worry was that all my items had vanished from my inventory (an elder scroll, a soul Carn, a cracked vial, and Merida’s beacon). I kept playing, convinced they were just forgotten and could be reinserted when needed. I spent about two hours grinding both illusion and alteration, taking advantage of perks, while my combat skills were already maxed out. Then I began the college quest to collect a few spells. At Sarathall I picked up the amulet, but it wasn’t in my inventory either. When I tried spawning it again, it still wasn’t there. I figured something went wrong in the Cydnam mine—it messed with the inventory system completely. With all related sounds gone, I realized going back to a previous save might help. But that would mean abandoning the work on leveling up two perk trees and crafting new armor instead of a mage or archer. Is there a way to fix the glitch without using an old save?

For testing purposes, reloading an old save and retrying the quest would help determine if the issue persists. What configuration is used, and are any mods active? No specific vanilla problems have been noted for this quest.

This thread is quite outdated, so I went back to an old save and now I'm working on becoming a master battlemage. Honestly, I believe the issue happened because I skipped talking to everyone right away after going straight to the king character without addressing the others. Mad at everyone getting hostile before a reload. A LOT of these issues come from the in-game mod loader. No nexus or anything like that.
