Every game appears poor quality even when using maximum settings.
Hello everyone, how are you? I own an older system with these specifications: a Core 2 Quad Q9550 at 2.83GHz OC, 3.0GHz, 4GB DDR2 RAM, R7 250, 1GB GDDR5 Kingston A400 240GB SSD. It wasn’t top-notch, but it handled some games. Regardless of the settings I chose, every title appeared poor quality. Textures looked blurry, shadows and plants seemed grainy, and they would appear only when close before vanishing. The games I tried were GTA V, Watch Dogs, and Assassin's Creed 4. All ran at high settings but still looked quite low-quality, almost as if they were running on lower performance. This card was second-hand, likely used for mining, which might have been the issue. Still, after moving, I upgraded to a more recent budget PC: Intel Core i5 4570 at 3.2GHz, AMD Ryzen 580 with 4GB DDR5, 8GB DDR3, same SSD. The performance improved significantly—games that previously failed now run smoothly, including titles like Assassin's Creed Origins and WWE 2K19. Still, the texture problems remain. Bad textures and popping effects appear in nearly every game. Even at 60+ FPS on high settings, visuals stay poor. This issue seems more tied to the game itself rather than my hardware specs. Any advice on what might be causing this? Thanks for your time, and sorry for the unclear English.
I’m not very familiar with PC setup. I got the SSD from my brother along with all the necessary software and settings. I’m okay with a Windows reinstall—it’s just a hassle and will require replacing many things. Internet in Egypt isn’t great either. That’s why I was looking for another choice.
