Hey everyone, I'm running low on creativity here. I just set up a new PC (details at the end) and everything seems okay. Most of the time. But then, while browsing YouTube or shopping on this old device suddenly decides to power off on its own. I tried turning it off after a system error, but that didn't solve anything. It's a bit of an unusual setup (some might say), though I haven't really investigated it yet. I noticed an event ID 41: "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." That's the only notable incident besides Event ID 7043: "The AsusUpdateCheck service did not shut down properly after receiving a preshutdown control." Hopefully, someone here can help fix this. My hardware specs are: motherboard from ASUS PRIME B550-PLUS, AMD Ryzen 5 4600G CPU (a bit underwhelming), Intel Arc A770 LE GPU, and 48GB of DDR4 memory. I also experience strange visual glitches—like a flickering LCD panel—that act up occasionally. I usually reset the graphics driver with WIN+CTRL+SHIFT+B for a quick fix. Because you mentioned unusual graphics problems, it might be related to your GPU. I’m aware Intel has released many driver updates—have you verified you’re using the most recent ones? Also, since your CPU includes a built-in graphics card, have you tried operating your system without the GPU? Performance will differ, but integrated graphics should suffice for streaming YouTube from Good luck!

Great suggestion, I’ll test without the dedicated GPU just in case. To recap: I consulted a friend who noticed my 48GB RAM setup. Both units are from the same brand with matching speeds, but one is an older LPX 2x8GB model and the other a newer LPX 2x16GB unit. He recommended using only the 32GB kit to see if that resolves the problem. I’ll note this update later once it’s resolved.

This RAM setup works well. The trade-off is performance, as the quicker RAM adjusts to match the slower one. It’s wise to try it with just one kit—it’s simple and free to experiment.

What I assumed was questionable, but the schedule might be wrong. This could lead to instability.

Linus made a video about mix and matching memory sticks. He's better at explaining than me... Also a short one from Dan :

It's interesting that both kits performed similarly despite being from the same brand and speed. One had been around 4-5 years while the other was brand new. I guess I just got unlucky. We'll check again tomorrow to see if there were any issues.

The issue hasn't disappeared suddenly after removing the old RAM. It seems resolved, but I'll discuss the graphics problem later.

After I labeled your RAM videos as the answer, it suddenly restarted a couple of times. I’m running out of ideas now. This version stopped working and then cleared everything.

Great update! Your previous RAM might have had compatibility issues, but 32GB works well for typical Windows tasks.
