Playing a game caused both monitors to freeze, sound stayed on, and I reviewed the event viewer logs. The error ID 14 from the source nvlddmkm wasn’t found. It seems the software raising this issue isn’t installed or corrupted on your machine. You may need to reinstall or fix the relevant component. If the problem happened on another device, ensure the display data was saved with the event. The attached details included: Device 00000180 CMDre 00000009 00000ffc ffffffff 00000007 00ffffff. The message resource exists but isn’t in the table. It appears to point to a driver stopping or crashing and restarting, I attempted DDU to clear old drivers but it didn’t work this time. Any guidance on fixing it would be appreciated. GPU model: EVGA 1080ti

It seems the video driver is stuck and won’t recover. You might want to try a quick workaround: press Windows key + CTRL + SHIFT + B simultaneously. This should refresh the VGA driver subsystem in about 1 to 3 seconds, often producing a brief sound and visual cue before the driver appears. If this doesn’t help while playing, switch to Alt+Tab from the game and attempt a driver reset. Good luck!
