Memtest86 consistently shows the original speed, but it verifies XMP settings when enabled in BIOS. The best tool for you relies on your system and goals. Memtest86 works well generally, though high-end Intel 13th-gen chips with fast caches can be tough to pass with VST.

I run on Z690 platform and need to thoroughly test the RAM. At first it triggered errors, but after installation it stabilized without issues. This led me to question the RAM's condition. System details: Intel Core i9-12900K, MSI GeForce RTX 4080, 16GB SUPRIM X, MSI MPG CORELIQUID K360, MSI MPG Z690 EDGE WIFI ADATA XPG Caster RGB. Storage includes 32GB SSD, 1000GB M.2 Samsung 990 PRO, and 4TB Seagate BarraCuda Cooler Master MWE GOLD V2.

For a quick verification, try MemTest86. For a thorough evaluation, use MemTest86 alongside Y Cruncher VST and TestMem5 1usmus_v3 for two hours each. This approach has worked well for stress testing on 12/13th generation systems.
