Evaluating my X570 Tomohawk setup for a new project
For years I've worked with MSI hardware, noticing how much they push reviewers to stay positive about their products. I understand most companies try to influence honest feedback through PR teams to maintain sales. Do you have another option to the X570 Tomahawk? Ideally, keeping it around $220 and sticking with an X570 MB rather than moving to a B450. Usually I thought Asus was pricier for the value they provide, especially since they've been offering higher-end MBs over the years. What do others think?
Consider the item itself rather than the company. It’s a solid product. The tomahawk stands out among x570 boards. What equipment are you using? What’s your spending limit?
At prices between $210 and $220, the X570 Tomahawk stands out as a top AM4 motherboard option. While manufacturers sometimes engage in questionable practices, this board still delivers solid performance. You can find a B550 Aorus Pro for about $180 if you don’t require the full PCIe 4.0 lanes offered by X570, or a TUF X570-Plus if you’re looking for more features. It covers the basics effectively.
I'd choose the Asus X570 TuF. It offers comparable quality and improved firmware.
That is a good point! And one of the reasons why I have been waiting for the X570 Tomahawk to come back into stock. (Got a notification from Newegg that it was, checked 90 minutes later when I had the chance, ALL GONE!) Trying to keep my spending to under $650. if possible. But looking at the R5 3600, 32GB or 64GB of 3200MHz C14 or 3600Mhz C16 or C18 (still a debate out there about that), Lancool 2 Mesh RGB and proabably a new 750W PSU, since my CM Silent 750 is almost 10 years old.
Absolutely genuine. My foundation has always been hardware. (It’s just that I seldom assemble Intel CPUs because of the Slot A) And I’ll remain a hardware enthusiast. I appreciate how systems function and connect.
