Hello everyone, Linus here. I'm looking for someone with an AMD Threadripper CPU who can run tests in my custom universe simulation. The simulation performs well with CPU cores and requires minimal GPU power, making it suitable as a CPU benchmark. My current setup uses an I7-4790K that achieves only 10 FPS for 1 million stars without star gravity. My GTX 1070TI delivers 45-60 FPS, so the CPU is the main limiting factor and performance grows linearly with star count. When star gravity is enabled, performance increases with the square of the stars. For example, 120 FPS at 1,000 stars drops to 30 FPS at 2,000 stars. With an 8-core processor, an AMD Threadripper offering 64 or more threads could easily reach 80 or 160 FPS at 1 million stars. However, a GPU capable of 3-4 times the GTX 1070TI’s speed isn’t available yet. If you have an AMD Threadripper or a multi-core CPU, feel free to reach out—I’ll send you a Steam Beta Key. I’ve attached images of the simulation to demonstrate its setup.
