The 9900K is bonded to the IHS. It’s a lot harder to remove and increases the risk of harming the CPU. In my view, it’s not worth the effort. There are several videos from Gamers Nexus and Der8auer discussing delidding the 9900K and whether it’s a good idea. If you haven’t seen them yet, I suggest watching them.
It shows a 9-7C gain, but it doesn't add much value. You might be able to sell it before it loses worth and earn a 3900X on a 12-core processor.
Don't attempt to remove a CPU on your own. No matter the processor, the STIM usually prevents immediate damage from a faulty cooling setup.
