Hi forum, I'm trying to compete in CS:GO with my American friend from California. We're planning to join esports events together, but the ping is really high. When we play on US servers, my ping is 120+ and my friends get 180+ on EU servers. It's mainly due to distance, but can competitive play happen without such a big gap? I have several US-based friends who also want to join. (EU Global Elite skills.)

Consider checking out tools like KillPing to see if they can help reduce latency. I haven’t personally tested them or read any reviews yet.

New York and other East Coast locations perform best. They don’t fix the high ping problem, which is why region-based qualification for LAN tournaments exists. Once fiber reaches the bottom of the Atlantic, the issue gets resolved.
