I use a setup with a range extender linked to a switch that connects to three servers, which has proven functional. The speed isn't excellent, but it's sufficient. Using just a $35 device wouldn't be reliable. I switched to a RE450 model with Gigabit support; it delivers around 50-60MB/s across roughly 5-7 meters at 5GHz.
