Using a VPN around the clock isn’t necessary because it mainly adds delay and limits data speed. Still, it might help if the problem is related to the VPN service itself. Have you attempted removing the VPN program to check if the issue continues?

For confirmation: The gaming PC without PIA appears to be the one with the connection problem. Also, note that even though you’re connected via switches linked to Google mesh nodes, you remain on a wireless link to the main mesh station. This means any interference with wireless will impact your wired clients attached to that node. Are other devices sharing the same switch as the gaming PC also facing the same issue?

The need for constant VPN use often stems from laziness. I frequently play GTA Online and believe a VPN would be a good choice. My gaming PC usually has the VPN active. I removed it recently and reinstalled, but it still doesn’t work. No other devices on the network are impacted. This switch is connected to my Hue bridge, a Raspberry Pi that isn’t used much, plus it serves as a hub for two other switches and my Google Wi-Fi. When I connect my laptop via Ethernet and disable Wi-Fi, everything functions fine, including LAN sharing. I’m confused about whether the issue lies with Windows or the VPN, so I plan to reinstall without installing PIA just yet.

Connecting straight to the mesh node would bypass the switch entirely.
