I finished setting up my build and when I open Windows, the internet isn’t available through my Ethernet connection. I have an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max and installed the newest driver from MSI’s site. The system shows a broken link between the access point, router, or modem. I’m looking for assistance to fix this so I can use my new device.

Your Ethernet connection may not be working properly. Consider reattaching both ends of the cable.

I thought that based on the unusual link, but the cable connected to a different machine earlier today.

I can't physically inspect the motherboard, but you can check for bent RJ45 pins by gently bending them with your fingers or using a magnifying glass to spot any deformities.

I tried a new cable and that didn't change anything. It doesn't seem to be clicking into the socket but the inside of the socket looks good. From the back of the motherboard nothing looks bent.

I switched on my router and it started working again.
