Hi. You’ve got a decent internet connection but high ping because you’re using WiFi. Since your router is nearby, consider switching to an Ethernet connection for faster speeds. You can find Ethernet ports on your walls—simply plug an Ethernet cable into your PC and the other end into the wall port. This should give you a more stable and quicker connection.

It really comes down to the situation. You'd require a wall-mounted box with Ethernet ports, plus a switch to manage the connections.

After connecting the switch, gather all incoming connections and attach them to it, then connect the switch to the router. Finally, power on your PC and you should be able to access the internet.

Routers typically include LAN ports on the rear that act like switches. If the wall ports are functional, you’d need two CAT5e Ethernet cables: one connecting your PC to the wall port and another from the wall port to the router. Make sure the wall port has eight pins. Some people mix telephone wiring (two or four wires) with Ethernet setup.

If the other side of that cable from the wall plate points toward the router and is linked properly, then it works. If not, it might not connect at all. This depends on who installed the wall plugs.

Understood. If the wall port functions as an Ethernet port, you must still identify the cable's path inside the wall until it connects to your modem or router to complete the wired setup.
