At home my Ethernet connection is functioning properly. It worked well at my girlfriend's place for a while before one morning I realized I had lost internet access. It hasn't improved after a week, and the Windows 11 troubleshooting shows it can't reach the DHCP server. I've tried many fixes—switching cables, powering devices on/off, restarting everything, resetting firewalls, using ipconfig commands, renewing and releasing DNS, even running Flushdns from YouTube. Now I'm unsure what to do next.

Her router isn't assigning your computer an IP address. You might need to assign one yourself (making sure it's free from other devices) or try to determine why the DHCP isn't working.

You can manually assign an IP address by accessing your router's settings through a web browser using its IP address or default gateway. Make sure you know the correct IP range for your network type. If the router isn't providing an IP, check the documentation or contact support for guidance. Changing ports on the router might help if the issue is related to port configuration.

In your network preferences, locate the Ethernet adapter options and enable IP settings or IP assignment. Change the setting from automatic to manual, then configure a fixed IP address according to your router's instructions.

I wasn’t able to assist through Discord; I’m currently at work until late tonight. Perhaps someone else here can help. While you wait, there are many YouTube tutorials offering detailed, step-by-step guidance on configuring a static IP address.
