Hello everyone, I recently assembled my first PC using an MSI B550 Gen 3 motherboard and am facing difficulties installing Ethernet drivers. I’ve scoured the web—Google, YouTube—and watched numerous troubleshooting guides, but nothing seems to work. In Device Manager, there’s no “Ethernet controller” listed, and installing Realtek drivers results in the error “The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled, please plug the cable.” I’m unsure if I’m missing something or if there’s a problem with my setup. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’ve also tried Intel Ethernet drivers, but they didn’t help either. My motherboard has an Ethernet port, yet it doesn’t appear to be supported by default.

It's possible the Ethernet port was disabled there. A reset should restore it. If that fails, manually reset the CMOS by adjusting the pins on the motherboard. Should none of these steps succeed, it may indicate a faulty motherboard—then replacing it with a new one would be the best course.
I also tested the drivers from the website, but they didn’t work. I downloaded the same ones from Realtek’s site and checked the BIOS—your port appears but no device shows up, even though your Ethernet cable is connected. I plan to perform a factory reset tomorrow when I’m more determined to fix it. I’m hoping the issue is disabled by default and just needs to be enabled in the BIOS.
