You're unsure about which product to choose since information varies across sources. Consider reviewing both options carefully before deciding.

For speeds around 1 gbps in both directions, Cat5e suffices. Cat6 works well up to 10 gbps over short distances (about 40 meters). Cat6a extends that range to 100 meters. Ideally, using a round cable improves signal quality by keeping pairs separate. In reality, with modern network cards, the cable's flatness isn't a big concern.

I'd prefer a thicker cable, as it likely offers better quality. I've previously used a mediabridge Ethernet cable without any issues.

We supply Ethernet cables ranging from 5E to 6A, suitable for speeds from 1 Gigabit to 328 feet. Cat6A extends compatibility up to 328 feet, while Cat6 handles 10 Gigabit up to 110 feet under strong interference. Cat5e works well for standard needs. For longer distances (150 feet or more), especially with PoE, opt for Cat6 due to better conductor quality. Avoid stranded cables over 100 feet; limit to 75 feet for PoE. Consider the jacket material too—CMR is ideal for indoor use without entering plenums, CMP suits plenum areas with low smoke, and CMX is only for outdoor, non-rated applications. For home setups, CMR is typically the best option.

Cable Matters, Tripp Lite, Star tech cables. 24AWG Cat5e and Cat6. I picked up a black web brand flat cable at Walmart and it performed well for my 75 Mbps setup.
