Establishing a link to a distant computer over a protected network
Hello! Your setup sounds secure, but using a Raspberry Pi with a 4G connection might pose risks. Consider other options for reliable remote access.
Simple answer: Don't work around security restrictions of your company, if you value your job. If you need remote connectivity, clarify it with your company's IT. The professional solution would be a VPN connection from your home computer to your company's network. Then you can remote into any machine at work as if you're on that network (that's what a Virtual Private Network, VPN, is for). That should be clarified with, set up and sanctioned by your company.
To retain your position, you should not continue. This isn't solely about bypassing a security protocol (which violates forum rules), but also about immediate termination if discovered, along with potential extra responsibilities based on your agreement.
Thanks for the feedback. You're absolutely right—it's too risky. I think I'll have to keep with the 12-hour shifts there.
