You're trying to upgrade your coffee maker to a smart version using an ESP8266-01. You've set it up locally but want internet access from anywhere. You considered port forwarding on your ZyZEL LTE3301 router, but the port isn't open. Make sure you check the correct IP address and settings for your device. If needed, an admin might adjust the configuration.

The issue lies in the modem setup. It should be operating in bridged mode with your public IP linked to the router's WAN port. Alternatively, you must access the modem settings, enable port forwarding to the router's WAN interface, and then route that traffic to your coffee maker.

When I checked the router, it displayed as an LTE router. Does that mean you have LTE internet? If so, most cellular carriers use carrier-grade NAT because IPv4 addresses are limited. This means port forwarding won’t work for you. You’ll need to ask your provider to A) redirect traffic on their side or B) provide a public IPv4 address. Neither option seems likely.

Sure, I get it. It's an LTE router. I'll reach out to my ISP and see what they say. They should be able to help.
