I've been struggling for weeks and am looking for suggestions or a reliable driver. I've used DDU and several different ones but they all caused problems. The three latest drivers I installed kept failing, too. My Windows version is about a year and a half old, and it keeps showing the error every five seconds. I'm unsure which driver to try or if this is the main issue. I've also run Windows Update and other diagnostics, but nothing came up. Occasionally it works, sometimes not at all. It crashes during games, wallpaper changes, and even appears on my desktop. I've attached a screenshot of the wallpaper error and two event viewer images. Stellaris logs something else, but I don't want to wait for it to fail just for a picture. My system specs are: motherboard Asus Hero VIII (X570), CPU Ryzen 9 3900x, GPU Zotac RTX 3080, 10GB RAM, 32GB, 3600MHz PSU, 850W Gold power supply. Any ideas?

Cezzane likely faces a RAM or motherboard problem. With such a powerful system, RAM speeds often hit limits—especially with dual-CCD CPUs like the 3900x/3950x. Reducing RAM speed might resolve the issue, try 3600 and adjust VSOC to around 1.15-1.2v; sweet spots seem near there. You can also check the CPU-Z RAM tab for XMP settings. If the primary values are 16-16-16, you're probably hitting IMC limits, which is really frustrating.
She uses an Asus B550-I Gaming board and I think she currently has a 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw V 3200s (I swapped it in just recently since she needed more RAM for Stardew mods, hehe). Earlier she had a 16GB G.Skill Ripjaw V 3600s for about 7 to 8 months. I wouldn't question it was just a minor issue but the fix worked out fine. The performance drop wasn't noticeable at all. I’m aware Cezanne usually has a solid IMC—she’s built quite a few during the GPU shortage when others didn’t face problems. Still, even with that, the 3200 rating is only officially supported by AMD. You might find one near the lower end of the curve. Either way, it’s a solid starting point for her to try first. I hope this is the best option since other fixes probably aren’t that straightforward.
The ratings stay very cautious except for mobos where they're actually promoting products that won't even work on them. It's a tough situation—losing the lottery would be worse than it already is, especially if you're stuck at 3200. I recommend trying to boost your VSO since Cezanne scales well with VSO, and you can estimate vcore = VSO ≈ max ~1.45v based on those GPU tutorials. It's configured using the XMP profile. I built this PC after graduating roughly three years ago, and I haven't encountered any problems with NVHDMK errors. However, it isn't set to 16-16-16.
However, the frequency is 3600MHz (1800x2). Reduce it to 3200 and check whether the problems continue.
It appears automatically when needed. I performed a bios update and refreshed the GPU drivers to the newest version. I'll check if it's still present; if so, I'll replace the GPU and memory. If it remains, I'll try lowering it to 3200 and see how it performs.
