Error screen appears following SSD installation.
I purchased a new 8TB Samsung 870 QVO SSD and installed it. It functions properly after setup, but I encounter random blue screens. The issue appears without heavy usage—PC stays idle. I've moved around about 1.5TB already, and everything worked fine. I'm unsure if the problem is with the driver or a faulty drive. I've tried updating chipset drivers and ran sfc/scannow, but nothing resolved it. Samsung Magician shows the drive is using the latest firmware, and everything looks normal. After unplugging it, the PC didn't show a blue screen in roughly 10 hours. I attached a minidump file, but all logs indicate DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f). Arguments point to a specific IRP issue, with detailed debug info available. Other checks like BIOS updates, memory tests, and system health scans came up empty. The error code suggests a kernel-level problem, possibly legacy API related. I'm not confident in diagnosing further without more tools.
Sorry, I didn't bring a solution with me. I'm experiencing similar problems with my 1TB 870 QVO (post-fresh install) purchased last week. Are you seeing different bluescreen patterns or identical error messages each time? It seems like multiple drivers are causing issues. Could the latest firmware be problematic, or was there a defect in the batch? I'm planning to clone my old HDD to an SSD to fix driver problems, but if they continue, it might point to a faulty batch or bad firmware.
