I attempt to set up Windows on this machine. It’s an Asus x570 TUF Plus with a Ryzen 9 3900X, 32GB RAM (4x8), equipped with Gskill Trident Z RGB 3200, Clim 14 RX 5700 XT, Nitro+, a Sabrent Rocket 1TB NVMe SSD, and a Kingstone flash drive. I connect everything via USB 3.2 using a 32GB card that functions perfectly. The official Microsoft tool recognized the NVMe drive without issues before. I adjusted compatibility mode to Gen 3 and turned off NVMe support. My motherboard confirmed everything was fine (similar to when an SSD was already running Windows). All tests passed. I disabled AMI NVMe support and tried stripping everything—only one 8GB RAM stick, no other drives connected except the graphics card. The installation window appeared, showing the NVMe drive. I deleted partitions from prior attempts, made a fresh disk, formatted it, and proceeded. During the first setup, copying Windows files worked quickly; flash drive and USB 3.2 were fast. The preparation phase took reasonable time. Eventually, the PC restarted after about ten seconds, showing a BSOD with error code bugcode_ndis_driver. This is my seventh failed attempt, and nothing seems to work. The issue is even more frustrating since these parts are brand new, while just a few hours ago this SSD worked perfectly without any problems. Please let me know what’s happening here—I’m exhausted after a long day and now facing this. P.S. I also tried the “no product key” option in case it conflicts, remembering that the motherboard had a Windows license on the SSD before.

Verified if BIOS updates exist for your motherboard and attempted a CMOS reset.

yes... Ok i just found this 7 month old reddit post where a bunch of people with the same CPU and MoBo as me have the exact same problem!!!! And a guy claims to have found the solution.. What is the solution? He installed the wifi antenna and downloaded the wifi driver and installed during windows installation as if it was a sata driver!!!!!! O M F G I am waiting for the driver to download (slow connection right now) and if that's indeed the solution then I gonna bomb asus for their crappy mobo because a) that's a ridiculous and very time consuming frustrating bug b) there are many people with the same issue 7 months back and nothing has been fixed!!!!

Ensure you verify your hardware before installing Windows. Double-check every connection and RAM. You can test stability by using a bootable USB with Ubuntu. Windows typically doesn't trigger BSODs post-installation, so something is likely wrong with your equipment.

I see you discovered another approach. Perhaps it works well, though I doubt any motherboard would launch without testing, particularly for essential tasks like installing Windows.

Ten people faced the same issue and resolved it that way, hoping I’m among them. For my hardware check, since everything seems brand new and Windows is running fine, I’ve taken apart parts, tried different settings, and tested thoroughly—I’ve definitely gone beyond just checking. But where should I connect the antenna and install the Wi-Fi driver before even installing Windows??!? (It’ll take about 8 minutes for the download—please confirm it works!)

I still can't believe this simple solution actually helped... I'm really shocked right now. Asus is known for quality, but this part I got isn't a top model and isn't cheap either. If only I could get angry at my phone with a friend right now... it was such a long, tiring night.

It's great to hear it functions now! I recall reading about a comparable problem where a specific device on a particular motherboard halted the Windows setup. Possibly it was the same board.

I understand this post is a bit outdated, but I’m facing a similar issue. How do you set up WiFi drivers as SATA drivers? I can only click the load driver button and load the WiFi driver, but I don’t see an option to select the device it applies to. After installation finishes, I can sometimes pick the hard drive for boot in BIOS, though it doesn’t always work—I just restart repeatedly.
