Hello! A week back, I placed the parts for my initial project. I verified everything thoroughly—double and triple checks—and finally assembled it. Here’s what I got:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (fara OC)
- GPU: GeForce RTX 3060 Eagle OC 12 GB (previous model 2.0)
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB DDR4 3200 (2x16, CL16, Model CMK32GX4M2E3200C16)
- Motherboard: MSI B550-A Pro
- PSU: Seasonic Focus GX 750W 80+ Gold fully modular
- Storage: 1x Kingston 1 TB SSD NVMe M.2 (on board) + 1x old 1 TB HDD (still functional)
- Case: Corsair Airflow 4000D (mid-tower)
- CPU cooler: NZXT T120 RGB Black
- Case fans: 4x MasterFan MF120 Halo ARGB + 2 stock coolers (one bought separately)

Now began the troubles (after setup, it booted fine and I entered BIOS). I started with Rainbow Six Siege—mid-game a blue screen popped up saying "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR." I assumed it was due to R6’s poor optimization, so I moved on. Then Red Dead Redemption 2 followed, again triggering the same error after tweaking settings.

I tried reinstalling drivers, swapping RAM sticks (only one left), changing PSU cables for GPU, removing and reinserting the card, updating drivers via DDU, reinstalling Windows multiple times (three attempts). Still no resolution.

Supplier suggested running tests like Furmark, Aida64, Userbenchmark, memtest86+, etc., but nothing helped. I overclocked CPU and RAM using XMP profiles, disabled/activated features, and even tried stress testing.

They told me to update BIOS for better CPU compatibility, but the latest version was in Beta—so I rolled back, which didn’t fix it. The RAM model I used (CMK32GX4M2E3200C16) isn’t listed as compatible with my motherboard’s memory.

The issue seems tied to this specific RAM—it might be faulty or driver-related. I tried using an RTX 2060 (older) and got better performance, but still hit the blue screen. The GPU showed high load percentages, while CPU stayed moderate.

I also had a friend bring me a new GPU (RTX 2060 6GB), which improved RDR2 performance and let me play VR games briefly. But even then, the blue screen persisted.

Someone mentioned this error appeared after Windows Update 21H2. I haven’t tried reverting to an older OS yet, but it’s worth a shot.

Otherwise, I’m stuck—just RAM? Or is it the GPU, drivers, or something else? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. This build is a total mess!

WHEA doesn't monitor RAM, it's an issue with the CPU or a PCIe device. Though the CPU can crash if the RAM speed is too high or timings too tight because the memory controller sits in the CPU. Please attach the dump files as instructed in the "BSOD Posting instructions" thread pinned to the top of this forum.

I purchased fresh RAM, which matches the specifications on the motherboard, but it continues to crash with WHEA. The event viewer displays this information.

Did you set up the proper chipset drivers? The X3D requires its specific version; using an incorrect driver may necessitate a full Windows reinstall to resolve issues.

I think I got the chipset drivers right. Could you share a link to them so I can verify? I’m open to reinstalling Windows if needed, but I want to make sure the drivers are correct. Also, just a quick note—your BIOS version is 7C56vAD, and that’s the latest stable for this board.

AMD Chipset Driver 5.01.29.2026 is available, though only one option appears. You can also press and hold the shift key while clicking reboot to access troubleshooting settings. There should be an option to uninstall the latest feature update, but this only functions if it hasn't been installed recently.

Would you prefer a straightforward reinstallation of the windows, or checking if the issue continues?

If the installation isn't important, then it's fine.
