So I overclocked my X4 at 3.9 GHZ.
Yesterday it was working fine, but today I realized that my CPU was for some reason at 3.4 ghz again, so I overclocked it again, and now I have this error while playing.
Here's a picture of AMD overdrive(I used the motherboard to overclock though, and all the settings were pre configured by the motherboard)
I'm pretty sure that it's not overheating because my CPU doesn't go over 65C.

Initially I would open the BIOS and configure the best settings. Save and close.
Next, your board is limited to a maximum 140w CPU power. It lacks VRM cooling fins.
The 965 model was available in two variants: 95w and 125w. You likely have the 125w version due to its higher VDIM.
To maintain all other settings within limits, increase the multiplier rather than changing the FSB.
Utilize CPU-Z to verify you stay under the 140w threshold.
Apply Prime 95 to check stability.
Adjust the multiplier, test again, and continue this process until instability appears, temperatures rise too much, or you surpass the power limit.

Error indicates an unstable OC. Run prime95 test and modify clock/voltage until stable.

Your overclock isn't stable. Did you run a stress test to ensure it works? It's safer to adjust it through the BIOS rather than using software.

You might be getting too hot.
According to AMD's specifications, the highest temperature it can handle is between 55 and 62°C, which varies based on the step.

The error indicates an unstable OC. Run a prime95 test and tweak the clock/voltage until it works. I understand you're new to overclocking; what should I suggest? Also, the overclocking feature isn't working on your ASUS M5A88-M even with core unlocked at default settings, and the voltage feels too high for me—this is the standard setting for this board without overclocking.
