I recently assembled my first PC and everything worked smoothly until I tried installing Windows from a USB drive. After adjusting the boot priority, it loaded temporarily before triggering a BSOD. I attempted reinstalling the media, disabling fast boot settings, and updating the BIOS. My system specifications are: CPU 12600k, MSI Pro Z690-a, MSI Pro Z690-a DDR5 RAM, Corsair 5600mhz 32GB RAM, 6700XT GPU, EVGA 750W power supply, Crucial P3 Plus 1TB storage. The next step I’m considering is replacing the thumb drive since my current one is a Walmart POS model. There are similar discussions online, but not identical. Appreciate any advice.

P3 PLUS isn't a good option for NVMe SSDs. They're very affordable for a reason, but they're unreliable and unstable. It's not about you.

When experiencing BSODs during the Windows installation, it's likely a hardware problem. Verify that essential parts such as the CPU, RAM, and NVMe drive match the motherboard specifications. Refer to the compatibility lists on the motherboard support site.

I verified everything works fine, but it doesn’t progress beyond the MSI loading screen before the blue screen appears. A loading wheel appears briefly, then freezes and causes the crash.
