Bit of a weird one. Has anyone else had a system that has various BSOD (Kernal_mode_Heap_Corruption, IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal, Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area) when a system has the motherboard positioned vertically but is stable when laid horizontally? It does have a Noctua NHU12A Tower Cooler on a R9 7900X. The Noctua Instructions do say to use the offset mounting on AM5, could this be causing uneven pressure on the CPU causing a bad contact on the Pins? I have tried reseating the CPU & I have checked the socket for damage and all look ok. All the parts are brand new. I have been through the moving RAM Sticks around & did have it stable vertically with 1 stick in the outermost slot of the the 4. I'm 2 evenings deep into this just want some confirmation I'm not going insane.
I've attempted to reinsert the RAM multiple times, thinking a faulty stick was the issue, but it's actually the socket. When the PC stands upright, the AM5 socket uses a hold-down bracket instead of ZIF like Intel. I've also re-seated the CPU and tightened the Noctua cooler to its stops. The screws on the cooler are secured by springs, but they can't be adjusted. I've included a drawing for reference. You're wondering if the tower cooler's weight when upright creates extra pressure on the CPU pins, pushing it away from the top?
