I recently upgraded my system by swapping in the Ryzen 7 5800x from my Ryzen 5 3600x. After removing the old board and installing the new one, I changed the thermal paste and reinstalled the cooler. The PC is still turning on, fans are active, and RGB lights are working, but I’m not seeing any display output. My fans remain at full speed despite everything being in place. I’ve double-checked the CPU alignment and seating, and all pins appear intact. My motherboard is an MSI Gaming Pro Carbon Max Wi-Fi model. I was fine before the upgrade and the system reported compatibility. Please let me know if you need further details.
Did you refresh the motherboard BIOS prior to swapping the CPUs? At least BIOS version V26 is essential for the 5800X to function correctly.
I thought I succeeded but I'll verify upon returning. Appreciate the advice.
This might not resolve the problem but I understand you're trying to troubleshoot. On your older system, the same issue occurs regularly, so you've already tried a workaround—removing and reinserting RAM. It seems to help for you. Consider giving it another try.
