Error message indicates a problem installing the driver on Linux.
Hello, I just set up Linux on VMware Workstation Pro 12 and am having trouble getting my wireless card to connect. I have Kali 4.13.0-amd64 installed, but the included drivers don’t seem to work with my USB Wi-Fi card. After downloading the drivers, I encounter this error when trying to install: make[1]: *** /lib/modules/4.13.0-kali1-amd64/build: No such file or directory. Stop. Makefile:1551: recipe for target 'modules' failed make: *** [modules] Error 2 ################################################## Compile make driver error: 2 Please check error Message I’m really confused about what I’m doing wrong. I double-checked the build files and they don’t exist... No one seems to have a solution, so I thought you could help. Thanks for your time.
It seems there might be some confusion about the setup. Typically, devices connect via a virtual interface to the internet, which is usually managed through a host system. Are you experiencing no internet access at all?
A popular spot for what? Tracking/sniffing with tools like wireshark or similar. Kali is meant for network testing and monitoring, not as a desktop environment. The device likely uses a Realtek RTL8811AU adapter, and you might find pre-compiled drivers for it. Kali runs on Debian, so the link should apply. https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions...on-xubuntu
