In the past two weeks my PC has been experiencing BSOD with "Driver Power State Failure." I reviewed logs before and they mentioned that the C drive needed to be taken offline for repair. A check of the CrystalDiskInfo showed the C drive had about 70% health, which likely caused the issue. After replacing the M.2 SSD and flashing Windows via USB, I set everything up and encountered two more BSODs within eight hours. This time, no errors appeared in the viewer, and no crash dumps were created before the shutdown. My suspicion is a hardware problem, but I’m unsure how to identify the exact component without swapping parts. Are there any diagnostic tools or software that can help pinpoint the issue?

The health metric doesn't reflect the real condition of the drive; it shows how much of the promised write capacity you've utilized. Do you have any backup files from the installation?

I cleared all files, but the only thing I recall is the drive's power status remained active or operational for three years.

I located a single dumpfile lacking permissions yet it appeared in the reliability report.

The 6400mhz setting is near the CPU memory controller limit. Disable XMP and check if the problem resolves. If it does, try using 6000mhz instead. This should avoid any issues.

I executed dbug and it appears the file is storahci.sys. However, I only see a failing drive or storage controller event. It shows a driver failed to complete a power IRP within a certain time. Arguments indicate it’s blocking an IRP for too long. The system reports a Power IRP issue with specific error codes and timestamps. Debugging info confirms the CPU and memory states, plus a kernel-generated triage dump. The failure is marked as legacy API related. No further details provided.

I can enable it, though the issue seems to be that storahci.sys is uncertain whether XMP might trigger it.

I forgot to include this controller and I’m hoping it’s the problem.
