Error message about Scanner driver failure to load.
I own a MFC L2740DW device. The scanner driver failed to load. Disabling the firewall didn't resolve the issue. After removing and reinstalling Brother software and the unit, I'm still experiencing problems. I'm using Windows 11 version 24H2, build 26100.2161. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Update your post with complete hardware details and operating system information. Describe the error messages or pop-up windows when the scanner driver fails to load. If available, share screenshots of the issue via imgur (www.imgur.com). Explain how the scanner is connected. Confirm that the Brother software/drivers were downloaded directly from Brother's official website. Note that just because "Brother" appears in a URL doesn't guarantee it leads to the correct site.
Consider trying a safe mode and administrator mode by right-clicking the install file. Restart the system and verify in Device Manager that the scanner appears without any yellow warning symbols.
Installation of the brother software fails in safe mode, as reported by Windows indicating the Print Spooler cannot be launched in safe mode.
Scanner is linked to the router. Software comes from Brother. The Brother tools panel indicates the scanner driver isn't loading.
The MFC L2740DW functions as a multi-purpose tool (print, copy, scan, fax) – accurate? All other features operate properly? The device connects via a wired link through the router for network access – correct? Does it have a static IP address assigned by Brother?
Solved. After hours of troubleshooting, I finally fixed the problem. The full Brother software package couldn't load the scanner driver, but downloading the printer and scanner driver separately, with CC4 already installed, resolved it. Thanks for your suggestions.
