Hey there, I've reached out to you after checking Steam support, Reddit, and other communities. About a month ago, I lent my laptop to a relative and now playing TF2 isn't working. They say nothing unusual happened, but the game just crashes when I start it—screen goes black, then it returns to my desktop. I can still play other Valve games like Dota, so it probably isn't related to Valve itself. I've followed all the troubleshooting steps Steam recommends (see https://support.steampowered.com/kb_arti...-EFLX-7453), but nothing's working. Thanks for your help, camchanlax.

Here are some clear alternatives to your questions:
- Have you attempted to restart your system? (Assuming you have done so, since the issue has persisted)
- Did you check the game cache? (Right-click the game in your library, then Properties, and select that option.)
- Have you tried running it in a windowed mode? (Right-click the game in your library, choose Properties, then Launch settings and enter "-windowed")

Hello, I completed the initial two parts and just attempted the third one. The game is still not functioning properly. When I linked my laptop to a dual-monitor configuration, it occasionally opened instead of closing.

Despite previous attempts, I chose to try it once more. The loading bar speeds up until reaching the 88 or 89 marks, then pauses for a few minutes. It finally reaches 100, but the game continues to close automatically.

Checking game files can be problematic. It might help to remove everything and try again. Also, ensure your graphics drivers are current.
